N.Y. Health Care Workers Revolt Over H1N1 Vaccine

CBS - Saying they should be given a choice, employees rally in Albany, around state, chanting "No Forced Shots!" They're upset over an ultimatum from the health department. Workers are being told to either get the swine flu vaccine or lose their jobs.

New York is the first state in the country to mandate flu vaccinations for its health care workers. The first doses of swine flu vaccine will be available beginning next week. Much of it is reserved for state health care workers, but there is growing opposition to required innoculations.

Health care workers in Hauppauge screamed "No forced shots!" as they rallied Tuesday against the state regulation requiring them to roll up their sleeves.

"I don't even tend to the sick. I am in the nutrition field. They are telling me I must get the shot because I work in a health clinic setting," said Paula Small, a Women, Infants and Children health care worker.

Small said she will refuse, worried the vaccine is untested and unproven, leaving her vulnerable. In 1976, there were some deaths associated with a swine flu vaccination.

Registered nurse Frank Mannino, 50, was also angry. He said the state regulation violates his personal freedom and civil rights.

"And now I will lose my job if I don't take the regular flu shot or the swine flu shot."

When asked if he's willing to lose his job, Mannino said,

"Absolutely. I will not take it, will not be forced. This is still America."

The protest also shook Albany Tuesday. Hundreds of demonstrators demanded freedom of choice. After all, as health care professionals they argue they're already constantly washing their hands and aren't likely to transmit or contract the flu.

Around 500,000 health care workers are slated to receive the vaccine.

"It's certainly their prerogative to voice their opinion," said Dr. Susan Donelan of Stony Brook University Hospital.

Donelan said most in the medical community see the benefits and safety of the shots and welcome them, and that hospitals must obey the law.

"Our hospital is committed to following the mandate to have our personnel vaccinated," she said.

The state said change was needed this year to save lives — typically only about 45 percent of health care workers take advantage of voluntary flu vaccines.

More than 150 institutional outbreaks of seasonal and H1N1 flu are expected this year in hospitals, nursing homes and hospice centers.

New York and New Jersey will get their first doses of the swine flu vaccine next week. It will be the nasal mist, not a shot.

Critics: Pandemic Emergency Bill Tramples Privacy Rights

Critics of a pandemic preparedness bill pending in the Legislature say it would allow all those things and sets the stage for a medical police state where any response to an epidemic of flu or other illness has the potential to steamroll civil liberties.

The bill’s supporters and its sponsor, Sen. Richard Moore, D-Uxbridge, have found themselves in recent weeks defending against attacks from talk show hosts and Internet critics with an anti-Big Government bent. In the category of unlikely bedfellows: the ACLU has joined the opposition.

Moore and other supporters say the bill is largely borrowed from public health laws and court rulings already on the books. They say that rumors and lies have led people to overreact to the legislation, and cite as an example the statement that the bill makes vaccinations mandatory. While he says his own bill doesn’t mandate vaccination, Moore points to a 1905 U.S. Supreme Court ruling in a Massachusetts smallpox case that said states could require people to get vaccinated.

Critics responded that the bill’s language is too broad and vague in many key areas, and that supporters were splitting hairs in defending it. No, vaccination is not mandatory, but people who do not get vaccinated after the governor declares a health emergency can be placed under quarantine, and failure to observe the quarantine can result in arrest.

Senate Bill No. 2028 – An Act Relative to Pandemic and Disaster Preparation and Response in the Commonwealth – passed the Senate by a unanimous vote on April 30 with almost no public notice. It is awaiting debate and vote on the House floor. Christopher Ott, spokesman for the Massachusetts chapter of the ACLU, which opposes the bill, said, “We feel it’s just a bad idea to legislate out of fear and in a hurry.”

But the bill is not new and not a response to the H1N1 flu. Moore first filed it about six years ago in response to the threat of anthrax attacks after Sept. 11, 2001. Rewritten versions have passed the Senate three times, but the bill has yet to make it through the legislative process.

The emergency measures outlined in the bill wouldn’t be automatically activated even in a swine flu outbreak, said Jared Cain, a spokesman for Moore. “The circumstances would have to be pretty grim,” he said, before it became operative.

On Sept. 9, John Auerbach, the state’s commission of public health, wrote a letter to legislators to clarify the matter. “If the H1N1 pandemic develops … there would be NO NEED (his capitals) for a declaration of the type of public health emergency as envisioned in Senate Bill 2028,” he wrote. The legislation, he said, is designed for situations on the level of the SARS outbreak or the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana.

But critics point out that the bill itself does not say it wouldn’t be used for any type of flu outbreak regardless of how widespread or deadly it was.

State Sen. Robert Hedlund, R-Weymouth, voted for the bill in April but now says he has changed his mind. When it comes back to the Senate for a final vote, he said he plans to vote against it if no changes are made by the House or a joint conference committee. “I think it needs to be defined what constitutes a public health threat. That’s very vague,” he said. “A lot of the definitions and criteria have to be firmed up.”

The bill was initially based on the Model State Emergency Health Powers Act completed in December 2001 by the Centers for Law and Public’s Health, a collaboration between Johns Hopkins and Georgetown universities. According to the center, that model legislation has been introduced in whole or in part in 171 bills in 44 states.

Cain, Moore’s spokesman, said the bill doesn’t include anything not already on the books in Massachusetts. It consolidates many health laws and regulations into one act to outline how the state should deal with public health crises and what the state health commissioner would be empowered to do, he said.

Current laws, Cain said, are very broad on who would be in charge and what would take place. “There are dozens of public health laws this bill borrows from,” he said. “But it’s all based on Massachusetts General Laws.”

Senate Bill 2028 says that anyone who refuses to get a vaccination recommended by public health officials may be quarantined. It also allows arrest without a warrant or entry into any house or building without a warrant if an officer has probable cause to believe there is a violation of a quarantine.

The prospect of warrantless search and arrest riles critics, who call is an illegal expansion of the state’s existing regulations for quarantine.

Moore’s office says the bill applies to a public health situation the probable cause standard that already allows search and arrest without a warrant in other situations. While the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution guards against unwarranted searches and seizures, the concept of “exigent circumstances” has developed over time through case law. Emergency situations requiring swift action, the courts have held, may make a warrantless search constitutional if probable cause exists.

Under existing law, a quarantine order cannot be enforced unless the state health department or a local health board applies to a Superior Court judge for an judicial order empowering health authorities to take specific actions.

Ott, of the ACLU, said the organization believes “heavy-handed law enforcement is not the way to go.”

The bill would also empower the state health commissioner to restrict or prohibit public assemblies.

Cain said Moore’s intention was to require people to stay home from work or school, and give the health commissioner authority to close schools. Critics, however, point out that the bill does specify those limits or intents. When asked if it would apply to any public meeting, Cain said, “We’re talking about an ebola-type situation. Nobody is going to think about having public meetings if this is the case.”

Opponents of a proposed pandemic and emergency preparedness bill say health officials miss the mark when they treat public health as a matter of national or state security.

The state chapter of the ACLU, which opposes the bill, compares it to the federal Patriot Act passed after Sept. 11, 2001. The group says the pandemic bill now pending in the Legislature may be another case where “people ask some serious questions as time goes by”...

Health commerce internationally is also controlled virtually entirely by this trust that also exercises near complete control over mainstream media to promote/propagandize its products and services for the drug cartel’s organized crime. This trust, in essence, makes or breaks medical and natural healing markets, primarily through the mass media companies and propaganda it wields for social engineering and market building,” Dr. Horowitz wrote.

Among the revelations from the Horowitz-Kane research are those linking Larry Silverstein of Silverstein Properties, Inc., and the 9-11 terrorist attacks, to the drug cartel’s geopolitical, economic, and population reduction activities. Mr. Silverstein, leaser of the World Trade Center who authorized to have Building-7 “pulled” [detonated] is a chief suspect in the “9-11 truth” investigation. Silverstein is currently landlord and co-partner in the biotechnology trust founded by David Rockefeller and implicated by these new discoveries.

WHO Admits to Releasing Pandemic Virus into Population

Mecoloa.com - The document on the WHO website states that it is common procedure to release pandemic viruses into the population in order to get a jump ahead of the real pandemic, so as to fast track the vaccine for when it is needed.

In Europe, some manufacturers have conducted advance studies using a so-called "mock-up" vaccine. Mock-up vaccines contain an active ingredient for an influenza virus that has not circulated recently in human populations and thus mimics the novelty of a pandemic virus.

According to the website, “Such advance studies can greatly expedite regulatory approval.”

On June 11 the World Health Organization (WHO) raised its swine flu pandemic alert from a 5 to a 6. Phase 6 is the highest level alert, and reflects the speed with which a virus is spreading -- not its severity. This classification also allows for a vaccine to qualify for a “fast-track” procedure for licensing and approval, and this process is now ongoing for the swine flu vaccine.

What you may not know, however, is that WHO, together with health officials, regulatory authorities and vaccine manufacturers, have been working since 2007 – long before this new “threat” of swine flu emerged – to “explore a broad range of issues surrounding the regulatory approval of pandemic vaccines.”

According to the WHO website:

“Ways were sought to shorten the time between the emergence of a pandemic virus and the availability of safe and effective vaccines.”

One such method used in Europe is to conduct advance studies using a “mock-up” vaccine that contains an active ingredient for an influenza virus that has not circulated recently in human populations.

When testing these mock-up vaccines, it is very possible to release the novel influenza virus into the population, as its purpose is to “mimic the novelty of a pandemic virus” and “greatly expedite regulatory approval.”

Government officials have other tricks up their sleeves to ensure these new, barely tested vaccines easily make it to market as well, such as:

Labeling the vaccine a “strain change” rather than an entirely “new” vaccine. This method states the new vaccine has built on technology used to produce vaccines for seasonal influenza, and the change for the pandemic vaccine is similar to a strain change used to produce a new seasonal vaccine each flu season.

In the United States, vaccine manufacturers are required to submit fewer data if they already have a licensed flu vaccine and will use the same manufacturing process for the pandemic vaccine.

Using a “rolling review procedure.”

his allows manufacturers to submit sets of data for regulatory review “as they become available.” In other words, they’re free to distribute the vaccine and then submit the safety data later on.

Would You Want a Fast-Tracked Vaccine Injected Into Your Body?

By very definition, fast-tracked vaccines are those that have received very little safety testing prior to being used. So any time you agree to get one, you are essentially a guinea pig.

Vaccine manufacturer GlaxoSmithKline has actually stated:

"Clinical trials will be limited, due to the need to provide the vaccine to governments as quickly as possible. Additional studies will therefore be required and conducted after the vaccine is made available."

And WHO likewise says:

“Time constraints mean that clinical data at the time when pandemic vaccines are first administered will inevitably be limited. Further testing of safety and effectiveness will need to take place after administration of the vaccine has begun.”

Why would anyone who knows the facts sign up for a vaccine that really needs further safety studies … but won’t receive them until AFTER it’s already been given out? By then it will be too late.

So please realize that if you or your child receive a swine flu vaccine, you will be acting as a TEST subject.

Remember this vaccine will not be made using the methods of the past. In order to speed up the cultivation of the virus and the manufacturing process, they’re using human liver cells instead of chicken eggs. Whether this new procedure is better or worse than the old method, I can’t say … but it’s never been used before and they have not had time to conduct any human testing.

So, it’s a giant game of Russian Roulette that you simply want to avoid.

Nearly all of the vaccines created will also include thimerosal (mercury), and the toxic adjuvant squalene, both of which have been clearly shown to carry significant health risks.

You should know, too, that vaccine makers and federal officials have been rendered immune from lawsuits. Should anything go wrong with this current vaccine they will not have to pay a single cent to anyone!

Who Stands to Benefit From the Swine Flu Pandemic (and Future Pandemics)?

This is the question you need to ask yourself when you hear the media dishing out the latest statistics about the swine flu pandemic.

In the last few days alone, I’ve seen major news outlets warning that come flu season, the swine flu could kill 90,000 Americans and hospitalize 2 million. This sounds a lot like the fear-mongering that went on during the Bird Flu pandemic (that never materialized) back in 2005. Back then scientists and governments were congratulating themselves for averting a threat that never was by stockpiling worthless vaccines. Now I’m having déjà vu.

In response to this newest swine flu pandemic, what did the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently suggest?

Swine flu shots for all! Of course, what else would you expect?

As the Washington Post reported, CDC said: “As soon as a vaccine is available, try to get it for everyone in your family.” Well, you might be tempted to do just that if you believe the sensational number of swine flu deaths they’re predicting. But, really, these numbers are not based on facts.

WHO continues to define the severity of the H1N1 virus to be moderate, generally defined as an illness requiring neither hospitalization nor even medical care. Most cases are having MILD symptoms that clear up on their own.

Further, no one really knows for sure just how many cases of swine flu there are, because some countries are no longer confirming them by lab. In the UK, for example, they now appear to be collecting swine flu data online and via the phone, based on nothing but self-assessment.

So did they really contract the swine flu? Or did the vast majority of them simply have a case of the sniffles or a seasonal flu bug? Without laboratory confirmation, no one will ever know, but they sure are using those numbers to scare you!

Going back to my original question though, you must ask yourself who stands to benefit from all of this paranoia and hysteria.
Of course you know the answer to this one.

Big Pharma … which stands to gain up to $49 billion a year on the swine flu vaccine alone plus an infinite amount on top of that for future pandemic vaccines.

The vaccine manufacturers would love for every man, woman, and child to heed the CDC’s advice to get vaccinated. But now you know better.

The swine flu is typically a mild illness.
The swine flu vaccine has not been tested for safety or efficacy, but we DO know it will contain harmful additives.

The choice, to me, is obvious. And in the future, anytime a new “pandemic” appears and officials urge you to rush out and get a shot, please remember this article and ask yourself if it’s really you who stands to benefit from their advice.
