Cap and Trade: Carbon Pricing Will End American Sovereignty, and We’ll Never Get it Back

Cap and trade: another facet of the coming One World religion

July 22, 2010

Examiner.com - Congress is moving in the direction of firing up the discussion about cap and trade again. Industry officials were present for some discussion at the White House on Tuesday, and apparently, a meeting over the issue of a “carbon-pricing plan that focuses on power plants,” was the most productive part of the meeting, an industry official told www.thehill.com on Tuesday.

While it sounds good in the sense that it appears to put the financial burden on power companies, most Americans understand that when a company, any company, experiences an increase in expenses, they pass that price increase along to the consumer through an increase in the price of the product, and if necessary, by laying off workers.

The concept of a carbon-pricing plan isn’t new. In fact, it’s been referred to as “carbon credits” in the past, and Britain has already been there. Back in November, the UK Telegraph reported that Lord Smith of Finsbury had proposed a plan in which a rationing program of “individual carbon allowances” could be implemented for Brits in an attempt to “reduce their carbon footprints.”
His proposed plan would “involve people being issued a unique number which they would hand over when purchasing products that contribute to their carbon footprint, such as fuel, airline tickets and electricity.

“Like with a bank account, a statement would be sent out each month to help people keep track of what they are using.

“If they hit zero, then they have to buy more credits. If they don’t use up all their credits, then they can sell them to others.

“In fact, there has even been some discussion of pet owners eventually being charged a carbon tax for their pets.”

Here’s how the cap and trade thing plays into the One World religion: cap and trade is part of the green movement / agenda, which is secular humanism at its core and fits snugly with the mindset of the New Age Movement. In fact, a www.wnd.com article from August of 2005 stated that “in the 1961 case of Torcaso v. Watkins, the court described ‘secular humanism’ as a religion.”

Chuck Norris had a rather insightful article about cap and trade that got posted at www.wnd.com this past fall. The name of Norris’ article is “Obama’s 1-world government.” The article mentions that Lord Christopher Monckton, former science policy adviser to Lady Margaret Thatcher, has read the treaty that was to be discussed at the Copenhagen meeting this past December:
“I have read that treaty and what it says is this that a world government is going to be created,” Monckton is quoted as saying.

“The word ‘government’ actually appears as the first of three purposes of the new entity.

“The second purpose is the transfer of wealth from the countries of the West to third world countries, in satisfaction of what is called, coyly, ‘climate debt’ — because we’ve been burning CO2 and they haven’t. And we’ve been screwing up the climate and they haven’t.

“And the third purpose of this new entity, this government, is enforcement.

“How many of you think the word ‘election’ or ‘democracy’ or ‘vote’ or ‘ballot’ occurs anywhere in the 200 pages of that treaty? Quite right, it doesn’t appear once.”

Norris goes on to write that:

“Monckton then warned, if Obama signs the treaty, he would be flushing U.S. sovereignty down the global toilet.

“Monckton cautioned: ‘But, in the next few weeks, unless you stop it, your president will sign your freedom, your democracy and your prosperity away forever — and neither you nor any subsequent government you may elect would have any power whatsoever to take it back again.’”
While two-thirds of the Senate vote would be needed before Obama’s signature on such a treaty could be ratified, it could be passed as an amendment to the cap and trade bill in the event that the Senate should decide to pass that. And for something like that to become law would further devastate our already reeling economy.

Cap and trade has already passed in the house, and if it passes in the Senate we will see dramatic rate increases on our already strained economy in areas such as heating and cooling our homes, churches and businesses; an increase in the cost of electricity use, the price of gas, the price of food, and in a nutshell, the cost of living overall will increase — but wages will not.

In fact, since businesses would have to pay more for heating and cooling, transportation, manufacturing and the cost of doing business overall, wages will be cut at best and more jobs eliminated at worst. And unemployment marches on toward 10 percent nationally (even higher in many individual states such as Michigan, Nevada and California) while Washington flirts with economic collapse and our currency plummets in value.

Because the US dollar has lost a significant amount of value already, the UN is working to replace the US dollar as the world reserve currency. And it won’t be replaced with the Euro, the Yen or anything else that already exists. It will be replaced with a new currency that will eventually become a one world currency — to compliment the One World government, One World religion, and eventually, the One World dictatorial leader who will be reigning in a New World Order. And the only army who can defeat that system will be the one led by Christ.
