Globalist Fueled Revolution in Great Britain

British Unions Prepare for Massive Strikes at the Start of 2011

December 20, 2010

AHN News - Newly elected United General Secretary Len McCluskey warned Sunday of massive strikes in Britain at the start of 2011 to protest the austerity cuts made by the British coalition government.

Union leaders will hold a special meeting in January to tackle the planned broad strike movement.

McCluskey agreed with the recent student movement to protest the recent government approval to raise university tuition fees to $13,500 (GBP 9,000) yearly. He said the unions will collaborate with student groups to ensure the anti-cuts campaign would be extensive and send the message to the government that they mean business.

The new Unite leader said it is their duty to the wider society to defend Britain's welfare state against the massive budget cuts made by the coalition government. British Prime Minister David Cameron is aware of the power of the unions and scheduled a Sunday meeting with union leaders.

Over the weekend, the online campaign group UKuncut held demonstrations in over 50 British towns and cities for the government to act on corporate tax avoidance. The group said if the government would be stricter on businesses and plug tax loopholes, the move could raise $37.5 billion (GBP 25 billion) more in taxes, which would reduce the need for spending cuts.

McCluskey, who was elected in November, will officially begin his term Jan. 31, 2011 after outgoing General Secretary Tony Woodley steps down from the post. Unite rules actually state that Woodley should remain as union leader for 12 more months, but he opted to step down ahead because the situation would create a two-headed direction for Unite.

However, Woodley said he will not shift to other unions and will remain with Unite until he retires when he reaches 65.

Word of the Year: Austerity

December 20, 2010

Infowars.com - The noun was searched so many times on Merriam-Webster’s website, the dictionary decided to make it word of the year. According to John Morse, president and publisher, “austerity” saw more than 250,000 searches on the dictionary’s free online tool and came with more coverage of the engineered debt crisis.

“What we look for… what are the words that have had spikes that strike us very much as an anomaly for their regular behavior,” Morse said. “The word that really qualifies this year for that is ‘austerity,’” Morse told the Associated Press.

The words “pragmatic” and “socialism” were runner-ups.

Austerity is definately on the menu and that is why so many searched the word. It is not merely Greece and Ireland that will feel the pinch, but the United States as well.

“Like it or not, what I call stealth austerity is already hitting America. Just look at individual state budgets that are covered in red ink,” writes Greg Hunter.

Look no further than the tidal wave of foreclosures and unemployment figures that grow every month.

“This is what stealth austerity looks like. Pretty soon, it will be uncloaked and brought out into the light of day. When that happens, it will be like the economy taking a nose dive into the deep end of a swimming pool with no water to cushion the plunge,” writes Hunter.

Austerity is the word of the year. Next year we will get another word.

Let’s hope it is “revolution.”
