Reduce the Size and Power of the Feds

Ron Paul v. Eliot Spitzer

Rep. Ron Paul appeared on CNN's In the Arena with Eliot Spitzer on March 2, 2011, to talk about the 'totally out of control' spending habits in the nation's capitol.

EconomicPolicyJournal.com - Ron Paul appeared yesterday on Eliot Spitzer's CNN show. Spitzer is an intelligent lefty and it's fun to see Congressman Paul take on Spitzer's interventionist views. Also note that Spitzer and Paul both acknowledge that the current so-called battle over budget cuts comes nowhere near the what needs to be cut. It's a circus show for the masses.

See the video interview here.

I noticed that Elliot pushed the conversation to cut to Social Security and Medicare. Paul needs to push those attacks aside and focus on what priority for government to cut. Military spending and bureaucratic spending. Don't let the media paint this movement as the movement to eliminate Social Security and Medicare. That is not a priority. If all military spending was shifted into medical care and Social Security spending there would be growth. - iehuvihs

Nice try by the msm using the same ole tactics. Though Spitzer tried to corner Congressman Paul with Y/N questions and cut off tactics, Ron Paul held his ground and even caught the use of different words to make it sound like that Ron Paul was against different areas, such as defense for example. Spitzer suggested that Ron Paul was against defense by using the word military. The congressman picked up on it right away and clarified the difference in terms. Ron Paul has been around the block more then a few times with these guys. He knows and understands that they will scoop to any low level tactics to discredit him. And with very little success. Dr.Paul needs no coaching. His ideas are right on and he considers the entire picture, from the federal level on down to the local. - contain1359

A "yes" or "no" cornering game pretending to respect Dr Paul. Ron Paul cannot answer most questions in simple yes or no. That is because: (1) First he has to state his good intentions and wishes for the people; (2) And then say that he has different ways how society can achieve this. Any other way makes him sound to many people like he doesn't care about the poor and the sick. And that exactly is what the dishonest Spitzer is trying to achieve. - Pieter
